Trattoria Bellavia
Our story
Three generations, one kitchen, and a stubborn belief that simple food made well is the best food there is.
It began with a single table on a narrow street in Bologna. In 1978, Nonna Rosa started cooking for neighbours out of her own kitchen — a pot of ragù always on the stove, a bottle of wine always open. Word spread, the table multiplied, and a trattoria was born.
Today her granddaughter Lucia runs the front of house with the same warmth that filled Rosa’s kitchen, greeting regulars by name and first-timers like old friends. In the kitchen, her brother Marco keeps the recipes honest — the same ragù, the same hand-rolled tortellini, the same refusal to cut corners.
We have changed cities and changed decades, but not the philosophy. We buy what is in season, we cook it the way it was meant to be cooked, and we serve it to you as if you were sitting at our own family table. Because, in a way, you are.
Benvenuti. Welcome.
